uniquely us...

I made this layout for an assignment, but ended up doing something different, so now I get to share it here! :o)cc_us_layout

These pics are kind of old...but they are some of my all-time favorites.  It does make me a little sad to see photographic evidence of how quickly time is going by - look at little Zachy's tongue...how cute is he?!?

Earth Love papers (double sided)

Earth Love papers (single sided, lighter weight - easier for folding the flower petals)

some purple cow/cosmo cricket fun...

As soon as I received this great little trimmer from Purple Cows, I knew I wanted to make a mini album with the great little lamination option!  I decided to make an ABC book using primarily the Little Man line (with little bits and pieces from other lines mixed in).  I used lots of random photos that I already had printed and the book is coming together so quickly!  I need to order additional lamination sleeves to finish it up - and I can't wait to add this fun and colorful little book to my mini-album basket!  Thanks so much to Purple Cows for the fun trimmer!

happy birthday laura...

Laura Vegas is one of the most talented people I know.  I admired her work long before I ever really knew her.  And after I got to know her, I loved her work even more!  I've also learned that she's one of the most kind, sincere, honest, compassionate, beautiful, and encouraging people I know.  I am so happy I can call her a friend.  Now I just want to be able to convince her (and her family) to move to Utah so I can see her every day instead of just chatting online or on the phone...but until then, I'm glad I can live in her computer!

Today is her 40th birthday - and I was thrilled to be asked by another of Laura's friends to participate in a 40 person birthday card blog hop in Laura's honor!

Happy Birthday, Laura!

Now you can hop right on over to Kimber McGray's blog to see another birthday card created especially for Laura! :o)

{Laura's friend, Lynn, is the mastermind behind this blog hop.  You can go to her blog if you'd like to join the birthday party at the beginning! - Thanks Lynn!!}

go phillies...

Tonight we spent a very long (5 hours and 3 games), very COLD, night at the ballpark.061010_softball_collage1

This team was very young (the youngest and least experienced of all the fast-pitch teams in the county league...hmmm, wonder how THAT happened?!?).  I think it's fair to say that they had more than their fair share of challenges this season...but they ended the season like true champs.  Through all of the close calls, BAD calls, losses, injuries, etc. - this young team didn't ever show a single sign of bad sportsmanship.  They were positive and kind.  They worked hard.  I didn't ever see a single girl lose her temper - even when the umps made obviously bad calls.  Not once did I see any of the girls talk back to an ump, a coach, a parent, or anyone else.  I heard a LOT of encouraging words being spoken between the girls.  They learned a lot.  They kept their chins up.  That alone made them champs.  So the fact that they ended up taking 2nd place in the tournament for this season was just icing on the cake!  Yay Phillies!!

random fact #731...

Or, if you're me...your eye twitches 4,200,000 times in the last two weeks, ugh.  What causes that?!?

you make me happy...

It seems like it's been a while since I've shared anything I've made - so here's a quick little card I put together last month for the Cosmo Cricket blog, but somehow I neglected to share it here. :O)

a free chi...

I was so excited to receive a package from Amazon.com last week.

Wanna see what was inside?

swagbucks_may2010_filtered

Guess how much my total was.  $122.57.

Guess how much I paid?   nothing.  yes, nothing.

It was free!

And all because I have been using Swagbucks

I earned enough credit in just a couple of months to get a brand new CHI and two ink cartridges for my printer (one color, one black).  I simply redeemed my swagbucks for Amazon gift cards and when I had accumulated enough, this is what I ordered.

Do you want to get stuff for free?  Sign up for Swagbucks by clicking here - or on the link in the right column over there --------->.

You can earn swagbucks by using their search engine (among other ways) and you can be earning free stuff before you know it!

P.S. I LOVE my new CHI...it's so so so much nicer than my el cheapo flat iron I had been using for years! :o)

oompa, loompa, doom-pa-dee-do...

Oh yes, she was.

And she was a pretty dang cute oompa loompa if I do say so myself. :o)

 ww7_filtered

I'll be perfectly honest and admit that I have never enjoyed Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.

Not in any form.

ww6_filtered

Not the book written in 1964 by Ronald Dahl...which I read in Miss Taylor's 5th grade class

(and no - it was NOT in 1964).

Not the original (1971) movie

Not the (2005) Tim Burton/Johnny Depp version.

Especially not the Johnny Depp version.

ww10_filtered

But this version - the Timpanogos Valley Theater version ...

Willy Wonka Jr.

performed by 12 & 13 year olds...it was pretty good. :o)

Especially oompa loompa #4. :o)

a necklace...

It's been a while since I've shared any of my Making Memories Vintage Groove Jewelry...so I thought I'd share a quick piece today.  This is a necklace I put together using the Pearl and Albalone Strand as my base.mm_necklace3

I added this large pendant to the strand.

mm_necklace3a

I linked the "wish" piece (from this set) and the silver butterfly (from this set) and added them to the side.

mm_necklace3b

I just love having the options of putting different pieces together to create a completely unique piece of jewelry.  I am happy with the way this one turned out - it's pretty simple, but a bit more dressy for church or a "more-than-a-t-shirt" day. :o)

why is it...

...that a weekend away is never long enough?

DSC_2406edit

Even a long weekend.

DSC_2407edit

We left late Friday night and headed to St. George - and we came home last night.

It was a quick trip...but fun - and a very much needed getaway.

Now I just wish we could go back.
